《最后的拍卖会》


 Lastauction

In the morning of 2019, a boy lay down on a bed. His name is Cat. The 7th grade in middle school. Today in school, his science teacher just told them about Environmental protection and Time travel. He lay on the bed, thinking if that was true or not.
Suddenly, there is a considerable light shining in front of him. He closed his eyes. In seconds, the light has gone. But he feels something is dragging his arm，then he doesn’t have the control of his body anymore. He passes out.
When he wakes up, he is in a bed full of tubes and strange-looking lights. He tried to get up, but the bed catches him. “Where am I? is anyone here?” he yelled. Nobody answered. All the air is quiet, peaceful, and also cold. Cat looking up to the ceiling. Then he reacted, that was not a regular ceiling, that is also a screen. On the screen, there is a video that is playing. Showing some pictures and some videos of the environment outside this room. The soil is white, the water is black, the sky is red, and the river is full of trash.
That doesn’t make sense. Cat thinks. Then he looked down at the screen. A significant number of the year is there. 2222. So I am in the future! Cat laughing. He is a big fan of time travel. He likes Star Wars too. After videos finished. The bed lifting becomes a chair. Cat finds it out, in front of him, is a window. Outside of the window looks like an auction.
“Today is the last auction on the earth.” The host said, “because of that, we will use gold as the only money we use.” He stopped a little while, “now we will have the first exhibits for today, the last pure water.” Right after he finished, the crowd are exploded. Most of them never pure water in their life. Most of the water is black. Some of the freshwater that only rich people can use on the moon is just yellow. Bluewater? Just like a legend in the textbook, nobody knows that it is real or not.
“We will start at 100 grams. Every betting shall not **aller than 10 grams. Let’s start it.” After the host says, people start betting like crazy. “110 grams.” “150 grams.” …… Cat is very confusing. In his mind, in the future people will all live in a beautiful city, maybe in the space. But not even one book or movie in 2019 talks about the future will be like end time. People will live in immense environmental pollution, not even one. After his thinking, he looks out of the window again, that last pure water is already wroth a ton of gold! That is like 30 million dollars. And the number is still growing. “that is crazy, impossible, it is sick, the whole world is sick!” Cat screaming like he never before. The whole thing he sees is subverting his mind. Back in 2019, who will think a drop of water will worth 30 million dollars!
“Congratulating to Mr. Philips!” the host said, “1.5 tons of gold! Now the water is yours!” The host is also excited, he never sees that much gold in his life. “the second exhibits for today are the last botanical, all neutral. Start at 200 grams.” Why people even don’t have botanical in 2222? Cat still wondered, but he starts to realize how bad the environment is. The biological is already worth 2 tons of gold right now. But people are always crazy; it seems to them that gold is not as valuable as toilet paper.
The botanical has finally sold as 3 tons of gold. Then the last black soil is sold with 2 tons of gold. Cat is already lost the ability to think. But that is still not the end of this event. “today we have a special guest.” Host said. People are looking at each other. Nobody knows what does the host talk about. “His name is Cat. We use the time machine to pick him up from 2019.” Right after, the host finished his word. The chair is moving toward the window, the glass broke, but Cat feels no pain. The chair finally stopped in the middle of the auditorium. All the people are standing up, look right at Cat. They look horrible and anger. “they are the generation that starts sending people to the moon； start use nuclear energy like crazy；they are also the ones who dig then use all the oils. They are the beginning of Interstellar immigration. Also, the beginner of this Terrible Environmental pollution.” host speak Impassioned
“We should put him into a radiation machine, let him dead with Endless pain.” “We should send him to mars, let him work for trying to live in the rest of his life, just like them sending criminal into Australia back in 1787.” People are talking about how do they want to do to Cat. But Cat is so scared. He yelled, “send me back to my world, and I will assure I will start to protect the environment in the little things in my life!”
Anything suddenly turns black right after he yelled. A voice is speaking in his mind. “you should remember this promise that you make today.” Cat falls to sleep again. When he wakes up, he is lying on his bed. He gets up, the time on his phone said 2019. “is that just a dream?” he has wondered. But when he sees the bottle on his table, he knows that it is not a dream. On the bottle, it said: “The last drop of pure water for all human beings. Worth 1.5 tons of gold.”
